It was a new beginning for me—the day I finally got my hands on the camera equipment I had been dreaming of. The anticipation had been building for weeks, and I couldn't wait to start capturing breathtaking images. But my journey wasn't going to be easy.

I had just been discharged from a painful infection, one that had made walking a difficult and slow process. Yet, I was determined not to let that hold me back. The creative drive inside me was stronger than the pain, so I grabbed my new camera gear, jumped in my car, and set off for a wildlife management area near Kissimmee, Florida, in the early hours of the morning. The darkness enveloped me as I drove, my only goal to capture something truly special.

Upon arriving, I hobbled across the terrain, each step reminding me of the pain, but I pushed forward. I reached the lake first, eager to see what I could create, but the scene didn’t inspire me. Disappointment settled in, and I almost gave up, but then, I noticed something unexpected—something magical.

As I turned onto a nearby dirt road, my eyes caught sight of a foggy field to the left. There, standing tall against the soft light of the early morning sky, was an old farm windmill. The fog gave the scene an ethereal quality, and I knew this was it—the photograph I had been waiting for

I pulled over, grabbed my camera, and with great care, I captured the image. The shot felt like a reward for my perseverance, the culmination of a journey that had started with a desire to create and had overcome obstacles along the way.
